Heuchera ‘Melting Fire’ Common Name: Coral Bells Zone 4 to 9, Full sun to full shade, depending on zone. Plants reach 10 inches tall and 8 to 12 inches wide. Herbaceous perennial, evergreen in areas with mild winters
Bright red new foliage in spring matures to deep maroon with heavily ruffled edges. Dark red stems carry a profusion of white flowers in late spring and early summer.
New growth comes out fiery red with strongly curled edges, then matures to deep maroon. Later in the year, purple tinges appear. With all three hues in view at the same time, this is one smokin’ perennial!
Like many modern forms, ‘Melting Fire’ is grown mainly for its foliage. But small, bell-shaped white flowers on wiry stems enhance its appearance each spring
