Product Description

Adenophora ‘Amethyst’ (30)ct Flat Common Names: ladybells, campanula. Zone: 3 to 8, Full sun to part shade.Mature size: 30 to 36 inches tall, Spreads to 18 to 24 inches. Herbaceous perennial spreads very slowly by runners.

In early summer, Ladybells have tall erect, leafy stem spikes of drooping, bell-shaped, amethyst-blue flowers that bloom all summer. Toothed, ovate to lance-shaped stem leaves are medium green. Pinch stems to promote new growth and flowers. Cut plants down to basal foliage in fall, clean up in spring.

It is easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil, although ‘Amethyst’ prefers fertile, moist, soil. Best if planted in a loose, well-drained soil that is amended with compost or manure. Once in the garden, plants should be left undisturbed because they are rather difficult to divide and/or move the long, fleshy roots.

Slowly naturalizes by creeping rhizomes.

Blooming well into summer, they are excellent in fresh flower bouquets. This plant makes a nice vertical accent for the middle of the flower border. Use as border plants, cut flowers, in mass planting.

Thirty (30) plants per flat (or tray). Approximate Plug Measurements: 3 inches deep x 2 inches wide.
