Dianthus ‘Fire Star’ PP14895 (3.5-inch pot)Dianthus gratianopolitanus x ‘Fire Star Imp.’ is a Star Single Series variety. Fire Star Imp. is more Compact and a more profuse bloomer than the original ‘Fire Star’. It is evergreen with linear, blue-green foliage with a mat forming, mounding habit. A showy profusion of fragrant, fringed, crimson red, 1″ blooms cover the foliage in Spring. Deadheading increases bloom time. Will rebloom in the Summer but not as profusely as in Spring. Benefits from a light trim after blooming. Dianthus ‘Fire Star Imp.’ needs well-drained soil and is best with slightly alkaline soil and average water. Good choice for borders, edging and rock gardens. Mature height 5″-7″, spread 12″-18″
