Geranium ‘Johnson’s Blue’ Common Name: Hardy Geranium, Cranesbill. Zones 4 to 8; Full Sun to part shade. Mature size 15 to 18 inch height, spreads 18 to 24 inches; clump forming with fast spreading habit.
2-inch wide periwinkle-blue flowers. After flowering, shear back the foliage to allow a flush of new growth to keep the plant more compact and mounded. The finely cut leaves quickly form wide clumps and are the perfect backdrop for the flowers in late spring. In the fall, the foliage takes on brilliant orange and red tones.
