Geum ‘Mai Tai’ PPAF Common Name: Avens Zone 5 to 7, Full sun to part shade Plants reach 16 to 18 inches tall and 14 inches wide.

This lovely new hybrid produces clusters of beautiful flowers you??ll want to view up close. The burgundy purple calyx opens to reveal ruffled, apricot flowers with a rose blush. They lighten to peach as they mature. The semi-double to single flowers measure up to 1 1/2 inches across and are perched atop burgundy purple stems.

Geum is a fast grower that is rarely bothered by pests or disease. Easy to grow and underused in today’s gardens. Geum adapts well to both hot summers and cold winters without complaint. It prefers moist soil with good drainage. In southern regions, protection from hot afternoon sun will improve the look and health of the foliage.

Young plants bloom longer and stronger than older ones. Deadheading will promote a longer flowering time and rebloom.

According to the breeder, this plant exhibits hybrid vigor and is more adaptable and longer lived than the older chiloense types. Easy to grow as border plants, in container, or use for cut flowers or foliage.
