Leptinella gruveri Common Name: Miniature Brass Buttons Zones 7 to 9; maybe hardy to zone 5 in certain conditions. Part sun to full shade. Plants form a one inch flat carpeting perennial; Growth rate: Fast; runners form a rugged carpet of green. Tiny greenish flowers appear over tiny serrated chartreuse leaves in early to mid-summer. Excellent as an evergreen lawn substitute or to fill-in between stepping stones. Tolerates foot traffic and wet areas. May enter dormancy during droughts.
