Phlox subulata ‘Atropurpurea’ Common name: Phlox-Creeping, Moss Pinks. Zones 2 to 9. Full sun. Plants reach 4 to 6 inches tall and 12 to 18 inches wide; spreading, mat-forming habit. Growth rate: Moderate, easy to grow.
‘Atropurpurea’ has rich wine-red flowers which blanket the foliage in mid-spring to late spring. Its profuse carpet of flowers makes a tremendous color impact from a distance. Creeping Phlox is a versatile, easy to grow groundcover which forms a carpet-like mat.
