Platycodon grandiflorus ‘Mariesii’ Common name : Balloon Flower Zones 3 to 8 (9). Full sun to part shade. Plants reach 12 to 24 inches tall and 12 to 18 inches wide. Growth rate: Moderate, compact herbaceous clump-forming perennial.
Balloon-like buds burst open into violet-blue, bell-shaped flowers. ‘Mariesii’ is a very reliable bloomer that is pest and disease free. Deadheading generally prolongs the bloom period. Gray-green leaves back the long lasting flowers.
