Description

Malus domestica ‘Queen Cox’

This patented, self-fertile clone has the compleflavor, mellow aftertaste and captivating aroma of the famed Cox’s Orange Pippin. Queen Cosets bumper crops of delicious fruit each year, without a pollinizer, even when fruit set is poor on other apples, including other Cox-type apples. The fruit of Queen Cois larger and the tree more disease-resistant than the original Cox, but the fruit retains the firm texture and complesweet/tart flavor that has made the Cofamily of apples justifiably famous.

Fruit ripens in early September. One of the very few reliably self fertile apples suitable for most American gardeners. Requires approx. 800 chill hours to successfully bloom and set fruit.
