The Summercrisp Pear is a great cold hardy pear that ripens early season. It is well known for its crisp and juicy texture. The fruit is green with a distinct red blush. Unlike most pears, it does not require off tree ripening to have a soft texture. Fruit is very sweet. This variety is also fire blight resistant.
This pear can be eaten green as a crisp, juicy pear similar to an Asian pear. Or, when allowed to fully ripen, it is sweet and fine textured. Vigorous grower and a good pollinator.
