      Szukis is thought to be a seedling of Early Golden and is considered by some to be an improvement on it. It is prized for it’s good crops of early ripening, large, sweet and flavorful fruit. But, what makes Szukis most unique is its naturally compact growth habit, making this tree an excellent selection for the smallest of spaces. In fact you can even grow Szukis in a container if needed. It also is unique in that is has been known to sport male branches that also produce a cherry sized fruit and can pollinate other female trees. Though, the male flowers can vary from year to year and climate to climate.  Cold hardy to USDA zone 6. It is recommended to protect the graft with a mound of soil above the graft union for the first 2 winters. 

Self-fertile (can produce fruit on it’s own).
