This Magnolia tree needs full sun to flower and grow its best, but can grow in the afternoon/partial shade in hotter growing zones. It is not particular about soil type and will adapt to most soils, but it thrives in moist, acidic, well-drained soil types. Very low-maintenance once established, new trees need regular moisture but are easy to grow once settled. Providing a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch around your Magnolias root system will keep them stress-free.

This Magnolia should only be pruned after flowering to avoid removing the current season’s blossoms.
